A Halloween tale for 2020

Happy Halloween!

Well I don’t know about you, but school has really sucked the life out of me this month! Social distancing, online school and homework is making me pretty batty. Covid 19 is the scariest ghoul sneaking in and out without being detected and causing all sorts of infections. Halloween and trick or treat are nearly obsolete. Clocks lose an hour to make it even more unbearable another hour of sleep in a year so terrible. Will this nightmare end and the blue moon subside to give another politician a magical ride to the White House for four year? Will the nations terror end in more fear or will we come together and unite as one for 2020 has been no fun? As my eye cross in frustration for this freezing day where kids are discouraged from going out to play for the risky behavior is off the cards and candy is stacked in everyone’s yard. Do not touch for you could get sick, wash you hands and try to predict when the werewolves will howl and let out their tune to alleviate the sanctions of a full moon. Now what I really want to see in times like these are the comical threads of songbird seeds like Warren Zevon, who eloquently  wrote,” I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain. He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.” Now if this could be true and a Werewolf of London could do this wouldn’t it be a Spooktacular feat to see one just down the street acting civilized in a world gone made where Voldemort’s world seems to have collide with ours in the midst of a deadly pandemic causing such fear that is really systemic where will this end? Will we all recover? Only if we learn to respect each other……….

Happy Weekend----Ava
